timhodson.com has been revamped with a new look and more stuff.  I am working on putting more content on there, so things will grow over time, but for now there is a taster in all but one of the areas. Highlights might be… The Langdale Heights page The scripts section Some poetry A few photographs And, of course, I eat my own dog food… Several sections of the site are powered by my increasingly popular wordpress plugin blog-in-blog (over 2000 downloads and counting)  that allows you to show posts on pages as part of the content.

I posted about this a while ago , but I have ported _ck_’s bb_attachments plugin to BP 1.1.x. I took some time today to clean up the readme files and submit the plugin to the wordpress.com plugin database. Nothing about the plugin itself, or the hooks you’ll have to put into your theme, has changed since my last post; but at least now you’ll receive the file with full documentation and can use the WP plugin installer to install and maintain this bad boy.     Let’s face it: Web-safe fonts are very limiting. Maybe a dozen fonts are out there that are widely enough adopted to be considered “Web safe,” and those ones aren’t exactly spectacular for much other than body type. Sure, Georgia, Arial or Times New Roman work just fine for the bulk of the text on your website, but what if you want something different for, let’s say, headings? Or pull quotes? What then? You have a few options.

We have just uploaded v1.3 of the WordPress Checkout plugin to the Tribulant Software and it is still warm as it is lying in your downloads management section, waiting to be downloaded.For some of us (yes I use the shopping cart as well) the wait for a new release has been painfully long and overdue. We have taken the time to put a few neat upgrades and new features in this release. The were two major problems that needed to be addressed, firstly WordPress changed there core code and many of you who automatically upgraded from WP 2.7 to 2.8 found “Save” buttons missing in the Dashboard Section of the Cart.

Authors can write a new Quiz question and answer for each post, fall back on a default question, or have no question at all. Commenters must correctly answer the question before their comment is submitted. Answers are checked by a caseless comparison. So spelling must be correct but uppercase letters do not matter. Short answers of one or two words are best and punctuation should be avoided. Questions should be crafted to check that the commenter read the post.

The ‘One Word A Day’ widget displays a new English word every workday. A quiz is included that shows three given choices but only one is correct. Anyone know of a Wordpress plugin that allows me to do the following? Schedule a post for future publication (say, tomorrow at 10am) but be able to access it publicly (without logging in) at the permalink right away. So I could pass the permalink ( http://photojojo.com/content/diy/diy-camera-hand-strap/ ) to anyone who I need to, and they can see the post as normal. BUT the post doesn’t appear elsewhere on the site, or in the RSS feed until the scheduled time.

Building a web blog using Wordpress as a platform can be quite easy, but when you realize that you want to improve it and customize it, things might get a little bit more difficult. If you are new to Wordpress and you don’t have a clue on how it really works I definitely recommend you to visit the WPBeginner website . WPBeginner or WPB (how I like to call it) is a website specialized in Wordpress and of course is a great solution for all Wordpress beginners and not only.

I love the Wordpress platform I am addicted to downloading Wordpress Plugins. Here is my list of must have , really cool and can’t live without ‘em Wordpress Plugins. These are all free and open source plugins. These plugins help in promoting my blog , and just make blogging easier- which equals more time to make money…. * SEO Title Tag 1.0 – This is a must have. Why build a great blog that can get spidered so easily and overlook the title tags? This addresses several limitations in creating search engine optimized title tags for blog posts and for pages in the WordPress blogging platform.

I need a plugin created that can do what is stated in this post (http://bit.ly/2WjWAS) but can store the files somewhere other than the wp-admin folder so that upon upgrade you do not lose your customization. Let me know a time frame and bid for the project.
