Twitter is not just a social networking site that can just provide you with fun and enjoyment because you can also use it to promote your real estate business through Twitter social marketing. So you see, Twitter is really more than what you think it is. Maybe you have heard about Twitter but then you are never conscious of the fact that it can also be used in businesses.

One of the reasons web logs are popular for marketing is they allow users to provide content that is updated frequently. You can post daily, weekly or monthly. The more frequently you post information to blogs, the more likely you are to maintain your page ranking. Like social bookmarking sites, blogs are not anything new, but [...]

As I argue in my essay Individual Branding the web presents important and amazing new possibilities for individuals to earn money and much of that potential will flow from one’s online reputation. In short, as one blogs or shares information in another form, one becomes a trusted source and can start extract money from those activities. I argue that those acts have the seeds of the possible destruction of Benkler’s world of sharing.

Last week I had the opportunity to chat with Politico’s managing editor, Bill Nichols , over a dinner hosted by the Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice. (I was there to teach local and state school choice advocates how to develop nonprofit marketing strategies.) Bill gave a fascinating presentation about the start-up of Politico, emphasizing many of the qualities that have turned it into one of the most popular and influential sources of national political news in just a couple of years.

Personal knowledge management (PKM) is something that we all do all the time, but often take for granted. I suppose, in that respect, it’s not unlike the other 2 KMs, Big KM and Little KM . There is always (has always been) some kind of KM going around, but until it was brought into the foreground as a distinct topic we did not approach it intentionally. Intentionally, at a gross level, PKM is about the tools that we use and strategies we employ that make it easier for us to identify, locate, and process knowledge.

Twitter’s Worth . . . Come Again?mackthewriter.wordpress.com

Turns out Twitter’s worth a billion dollars , although it hasn’t made even one cent in profit. This valuation is based on investor funding. So . . . we’ve been in a recession, where people have lost jobs, businesses are failing, automakers are slashing prices to the bone to move their cars off the lot and various industries are seeking congressional bailouts. But Twitter is getting tons of money from someone and is worth a billion dollars. Conclusion: economics and finance are bullsh*t.

by Mark Bradley The internet is really powerful nowadays because even the world of real estate business is already occupied by it through the use of Twitter social marketing. There are a lot of people out there who have discovered that sites like Twitter can now be used for boosting a business? popularity. For sure you already have an idea on what is Twitter all about. It is very similar with other social networking sites wherein you can login, meet and see different kinds of people even if they are on the other side of the world, and allows you to discuss the things that you are doing with other people.

On October 5, the FTC released their updated guidelines to advertisers on how to keep their endorsement and testimonial ads in line with the Federal Trade Commission Act. The guidelines were last updated in 1980. Clearly technology and publishing has changed significantly in the past 30 years. The revised Guides also add new examples to illustrate the long standing principle that “material connections” (sometimes payments or free products) between advertisers and endorsers – connections that consumers would not expect – must be disclosed.

Billed as “AdSense High-End” , Google is now letting advertisers create ads specifically for “high-end” phones like the iPhone and Android-capable devices. While that is a natural evolution of the AdSense platform, Google’s explanation as to why is quite interesting: With the growth in popularity of high-end mobile phones with full (HTML) Internet browsers, like the iPhone and phones running Android, advertisers are increasingly extending their campaigns to mobile devices.

I believe this is possible as a preamble to a suggestion of a planned evolution of the name “Malay”. I think we are at an exciting historical juncture in which human creativity is at its highest point, given the power of the advanced digital communication technologies such as Web 2.0 and the like.

by Carol Cheung It may be considered as a child’s play to increase the number of visitors to a website today. Considering how the search engines are strategically optimized these days, it is fairly easy to get gobs of visitors instantly to a new website. It sounds easy to attract visitors but the real difficulty lies on how to keep them. On top of that, you should also be able to turn them into loyal customers who will constantly return to your website. Web design is all you need.

The folks at Twitter has just added a small but impressive feature into its real-time search system. When users click on a particular trending topic listed on the sidebar of the page, a short description related to the event or product will be displayed. For example, as I clicked on ‘Typhoon Ondoy’, Twitter will show a paragraph of text, telling me what ‘Typhoon Ondoy’ is all about and why is it trending.

A few weeks ago we had a visitor at the Googleplex: Rob Hof , the Silicon Valley bureau chief at BusinessWeek . Rob talked to a bunch of Googlers and sat in on one of our weekly quality-leads meetings. The resulting story is out now . The first part of the story covers some of the challenges facing Google, but the second part gets into more detail than we normally get into. What’s even more interesting is that BusinessWeek put up transcripts of some of the interviews.

I’m in Minneapolis to speak and attend the MIMA Summit 09 and here’s what I’ll see and what I think, beforehand (I’ll let you know if anything new and unexpected comes up) afterwards.  It’ll be interesting if I can cover the what I expect to hear, and see how much of it is different. In the morning Jackie Huba will be speaking about user generated content which is ranking higher in search engines than corporate content for a brand (no surprise here, corporate content is often pretty poor for SEO).  Just met Jackie briefly tonight at the pre-reception party – didn’t ask what she’s actually going to speak to – we’ll find out in the morning.

The revelation was somewhat unintentional: video podcasters Arnt Eriksen and Thomas Moen were interviewing Rose during the FOWA conference in London and spotted him playing with the new app.
