Actually, you should call it the 370Z Roadster, that is, because a) it no longer has a roof and, b) the word “Convertible” has been spoken for by the similarly zoomy roofless Infiniti G37. The two are distinctly different in look and feel, even if performance is almost the same–thrilling. In this case, the overall package is so sharp, Nissan folks are openly comparing the new 2010 Nissan 370Z Roadster to the Porsche Boxster, a comparison that holds interesting weight once you drive it in and around the winding hills looking over Silicon Valley.

Raising finance for a small business involves striking a balance between the various forms of funding to ensure that they are suitable for the business. There are several funding opportunities available for small businesses, ranging from a straight business loan secured against some form of collateral, to a business angel, or dragon if you like, willing to invest in your business in return for a share in it. You have a number of options to choose from, and whether you choose one or a combination of alternatives depends on how much you need and what each source is willing to offer.

The MBA qualification broadens and enhances knowledge and should be viewed in a sense of building up skills. Although the most popular reasons for undertaking the MBA is to increase salary, other reasons include widening career opportunities, furthering one’s career and/or to extend personal networks. There are other equally important reasons that any prospective MBA student will state, but by far the most compelling is to create career opportunities for oneself.

The reasoning behind the introduction of copyright was the establishment of a law which would make sure there were incentives for creating culture. There was a fear that if there wasn’t some form of exclusivity, middlemen with a large capacity for distribution would easily be able to grab all works of art, produce and distribute them more effectively than the creators themselves and thus getting the lion’s share of the profits. This was a time when the printing press was the hot new thing, and writers feared publishers would easily steal all their hard work.

Maggie would really rather be at home with her new baby, but went back to her job after a standard maternity leave because she and her husband decided they couldn’t afford for her not to work . Several months into it, she’s figured out that after paying for childcare and other expenses associated with the job, she nets about $300 a month. So, in her words, she’s working “to pay for a couple of tanks of gas and some groceries.” Is there not a better way to make $300? Maggie is the sister of a friend of mine, and I’ve only met her once or twice, but I can’t quit thinking about her situation.

Mike Volpi made his industry bones as Cisco Systems’ preeminent wheeler-dealer during the networking giant’s frenetic run of acquisitions through the mid-to-late 90s and slightly beyond. At the risk gross understatement, I would say those were better times than the current dark ages for people who engage in that sort of high-octane dealmaking, No fool, Volpi recognized the end of an era when he saw one.

I f you’re anything like me, you’re glued to the TV when an episode of Dragons Den or Shark Tank is on. For those of you unfamiliar with the show, it’s a show where entrepreneurs “pitch” their ideas to venture capitalists (dragons/sharks) in the hopes of walking away with some money and new partners. Season after season, it seems that entrepreneurs on the show do not learn from the mistakes of those before them. Here are some of the lessons learned from The Dragons Den (or Shark Tank for US residents) 1.

With a bit of delay, here is the second instalment of my analysis of the current crisis from the point of view of ‘the ethical economy’ I. First Idea Our crisis is a crisis of transition. The present financial crisis is not the first to hit us. Rather, the period of relative financial calm that marked the persistence of the Bretton Woods accord (1947-1971) has been succeeded by a series of financial boom and bust cycles, the stock market in the 1980s, the dot.com boom in the 1990s and now the sub-prime/real estate bubble.

STEP 6: Funding
This could be a very important step for businesses that require capital to startup and funding to keep overheads and inventories on track. Finding funding is not difficult. But getting the right funding is crucial. Of course there is a saying that goes, ?beggars can?t be choosers?! Nonetheless, startup owners must be smart when seeking funding or it could turn their dream business into a nightmare.

The fact is that while clean technology (solar, wind, biofuels) is a new area of technology , much of the law that applies to this area is not new at all. Much of the technology underlying clean tech is patented and licensed like any other technology.
