When attempting to install PSE7 the 1406 error appears stating Could not write value to key \Software\Classes\.raw\Open\WithList\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe. I am signed on as my user name which is listed as an administrator. I have checked the permissions in the registry edit and am listed for Full control in the key. I’ve also attempted to use RegCure to identify and repair any registry errors and I still can’t install the software without this error.

Now I’ve been blogging on Blazing Minds for over a year now, though I had a bit of a slow start and didn’t usually get that many comments back and my earlier blog posts where somewhat short and far between, over the past year my blogging has improved, so I would like to take the opportunity to give some tips to you all on what I’ve personally learned. Write informative blog posts. Even if they are just about what you did in the day, show that whatever you did you have a bit of knowledge about.

The other day I was looking for a way to have a WordPress page redirect to an external page, one that is not on the same domain as the WP blog. A quick search for ‘links page’ lead me to a great little plugin, called Page Links To . Page Links To has basically one purpose. According to the author you can “make a WordPress page or post link to a URL of your choosing, instead of its WordPress page or post URL.” Exactly what I was looking for! Like most other plugins downloading the page-links-to.zip file, unpacking and uploading the plugin folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory, and activating the plugin was simple.

You must be able to use PayPal’s website payment pro and standard gateway including using PayPal API as no live access info will be given. I need for customers on my site to be able to view previews of the videos/animations on my site then buy and DOWNLOAD the full versions if they want to — so I will need help linking the full versions to paypal and link to whatever players you and I decide is the best way for the customer to obtain the product (so perhaps have a link to a flash player or offer the animations as mpeg4 or whatever you think is best? To see the full version the customer will have to pay and download them to their own machines — so I need help setting this up.

August has been a whirlwind tour of work, a conference and meetups. Inman Connect and RE Bar Camp San Fran was the first week of August and it was a great time of learning sessions and new products. Two things that caught my eye at Inman Connect were: Listing Pres s – a Wordpress Plugin to display an IDX feed directly into your site instead of an iFrame. This looks to be a promising IDX plugin for wordpress real estate sites. I like the technology and as soon as I find out more and play with it I will report back to you.

What is surprising is that they took the time to develop a test system.

As seen on my local WP development environment Sometimes you’ve created a site with WordPress standard (not single user), but have had allow the site owners or users to have full admin access to it.  You have plugin and theme dependencies, and if the site owner disables that plugin, you have problems. For example, you’ve written a plugin that carries out a certain range of syndication functions for your client.  If the client accidentally disables it he will lose money, and you will have a call-out, potentially an angry one, when he finds out.  He wants admin access, but you know he’s dangerous with it.
