It's not really a direct marketing tool, but it's definitely an indirect money maker. In other words, I wouldn't expect to make many sales, if any at all, by announcing launches etc. but I know for a fact it's an excellent way to find a coder, graphics guy etc. in literally seconds...I've done it multiple times.
